| The sunshine state of Australia, Queensland certainly

Brisbane |

1. Brisbane Hinterland |
| Within easy reach of Brisbane city are picturesque
rural areas with cool forests, mountain ranges and market gardens.
Take of walking tour of the historic city of Ipswich, with its
stately heritage buildings. At Laidley, in the Lockyer Valley, enjoy
a scenic balloon flight over "Queensland's Country Garden". Visit
the agricultural town of Kingaroy, known for its peanuts, and taste
the locally produced wines. |

2. Brisbane Islands |
| Just a short launch ride away, and easily reached
from Brisbane, are North Stradbroke and Moreton Islands. With long,
golden beaches and lush green forests the islands are a nature
lover’s delight. Enjoy bushwalking, surfing, sand boarding,
snorkeling and hand fishing the wild dolphins in these unspoilt
islands. |

3. Gold Coast & Hinterland |
| With 70kms of golden sun drenched beaches, no
wonder it is called the Gold Coast. But there is much more to the
Gold Coast than endless beaches. The Hinterland, only 1/2 hour away
from the coast offers a spectacular contrast with lush rainforests
and charming mountain villages. For the young and young at heart,
there are the must see theme parks (Movie World; Dreamworld;
Wet'nWild). With so much to see and do you will be tempted to extend

4. Darling Downs |
| The Darling Downs, starting 100 km west of
Brisbane, is a large agricultural district of undulating plains. The
region yields grapes, oil and wheat, as well as some magnificent
gardens. Visit the historic towns, National parks reserves and of
course stay at one of the many fine Bed and Breakfasts in the area. |

5. Sunshine Coast |
| The name says it all. Only 1 1/2 hours north of
Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast is a blend of relaxed beachside
atmosphere with a cosmopolitan lifestyle offering plenty of things
to see and do. With clean, golden beaches and quaint inland
villages, national parks and the magnificent Glass House Mountains,
you will love the Sunshine Coast. |

6. Fraser Island & Coast |
| Just north of the Sunshine Coast, is Fraser Island,
the world’s largest sand island, with its beautiful Seventy Five
Mile Beach and spectacular sand dunes. On the mainland, Hervey Bay,
has the best whale-watching in Australia, while the heritage town of
Maryborough delights visitors with its wide, tree-lined streets and
Queenslander-style houses. |

7. Great Barrier Reef |
| Breath-takingly beautiful and sometimes called the
eighth wonder of the world, this marine wonderland is considered to
be one of the best places on earth for diving, sailing and other
water activities. Over 900 islands are scattered throughout the
reef, with only a few of them inhabitable. Among the most popular is
the Whitsunday group of islands. On the mainland, the town of Airlie
Beach is a gateway to the islands as well as a great holiday
destination in itself |

8. Capricorn |
| Straddling the Tropic of Capricorn this region is
where the outback meets the reef. Rockhampton, the main centre, has
many fine heritage buildings. Bundaberg is home to the world-famous
‘Bundy’ rum. From the coastal resort of Yeppoon take a day trip out
to Great Keppel Island and enjoy a myriad of water activities. |

9. The Mid-Tropics |
| This region encompasses Mackay, Townsville and
Mission Beach on the coast and the inland towns of Charters Towers
and Clermont. Not only a great Queensland holiday alternative on its
own merits but also an excellent base from which to explore the
Great Barrier Reef and its islands. |

10. The Far North |
| The Reef & Rainforest Coast. World heritage listed
